Wednesday night taiko classes
will begin on January 2, 2008. Beginning classes will focus
on basic techniques including form, (internal and external), base
beats commonly used in taiko songs, and the integration of principles
used in aikido in the playing of taiko.
The goal for taking class is to build a foundation of skills enabling
us to explore the usage of energy through the expression of taiko. To
facilitate us on that journey, each class will focus on building
basic skills and developing an acquaintance with the variety of
drums and styles of playing
