Push Hands

 

Ken Wright and Dan McAbee are offering a Tai Ji push hands class on Sunday evenings 6:30-7:30 beginning January 7th 2007.

The focus will be on drills and freehand exercises in both the Chen and Yang traditions, not only to deepen the understanding of Tai Ji interactive study, but also to explore the relationship between Tai ji and Aikido.

Appropriate for experienced and beginning students of both arts, as well as anyone with an interest in an interactive and centering practice.
 

Ken Wright has been practicing and teaching Tai Ji Quan for 27 years in San Diego, Hawaii, and for the last 12 years in the Seattle area.

His teachers include Cris Luth and Abraham Liu in the Cheng Man Ching tradition, and intuitive push hands, Sam Masich in traditional push hands, and the incomparable Madame Gao Fu in the Chen style.

Ken is currently teaching Chen 24 form at Two Cranes as well as 21 other classes per week.

 

Dan McAbee has been practicing and teaching in the martial arts for more than 30 years. The World Taekwondo Federation ranked him to 2nd Dan in 1986.
In additon to his empty hand training, Dan has studied with Tom Read Sensei in Aikibojisu for almost 15 years, and has been granted the rank of 4th Dan.
Mary Heiny Sensei granted him the rank of Aikido 4th Dan in 2007.
His study of Tai Ji Quan and Push hands has been with Ken Wright began in early 2002.
